This project proposes an experimental walk along the river Thames, where visitors can engage with ruins from World War 2 in the Thamesmead area, which historically was home to the Royal Arsenal and the heart of the Royal Army in wartime.

The project references a three-act structure and aims to find a balance between collective memories - trauma and honour.

The ambition of the project is to challenge the state of heritage urban spaces that have been modernised. Achitectural historian Christine Boyer argued that these mainstream landscape heritages inevitably push the scale into a contemporary form of memory crisis. In this context, the design aims to awaken the ghosts of these dormant ruins along the river Thames.

Act 4: The Canary Girls

Hope might be a hill full of ginkgoes; or the red void along the trail; or even every inch of the landscape you have encountered along the journey.
